Indore, one of the major cities of Madhya Pradesh lies to the extreme west of Madhya Pradesh. An important industrial city is known for the trade and textile industry and occupies a prominent place in the changing contours of India’s IT map.
Indore is the financial capital of central India and is also known as Mini-Mumbai. - Dewas, another industrial town is 35 kilometer to Indore. Among the notable industries here are Tata Exports, S.Kumars, Ruchi Soya, Ranbaxy Laboratories. Dewas is declared as city of export excellence.
- The cantonment town of Mhow (Military Headquarters of War) established during world war as a base for British troops in Central India, is 22 kilometer to the city. The latter has a thriving ready made garment as well as shoe and metal cottage industry.
With the availability of immense technical talent, it is the next stop for the growing IT and ITes industries. Big names like Wipro, TCS and developers like Raheja, Unitech, Parsvanath have been allotted place in SEZs creating additional demand for residential units from incoming population adding to a natural growth of 46%. Indore is also emerging as warehousing and logistics hub with CWC & NHBC designated warehouses in the city.
The apartment culture is emerging in this row house-dominated city. The sought-after areas are Manorama Ganj, Saket Nagar, New Palasia, Shrinagar Colony, Kanchan Bagh, Ratlam Kothi, Suklia, Gulmohar, Sudama Nagar and New Usha Nagar.
Commercial development is taking place in the emerging areas and strong competitors for the MG Road are the AB Road and the Ring Road.
The organized retail activity is catching up fast in the city. 3-5 malls are at different stages of development and the city has attracted the major brands and lifestyle stores. Indore is an emerging Tier III city and a preferred destination for Real Estate Investment.
